The attorneys and paralegals in Pullman & Comley’s Property Tax and Valuation Department had a very successful 2025 representing clients in achieving equitable assessments of their commercial real and personal property.  Some of the more notable results achieved last year were as follows:

  • Represented a client in a property tax appeal that produced over $65 million in total fair market value reductions on an office building exceeding 740,000 square feet together with a supporting building.
  • Settled property tax appeals on a portfolio of seven shopping plazas for fair market value reductions totaling $157.5 million.
  • Secured over $221 million in gross fair market value reductions on a large defense manufacturing facility.
  • Obtained a property tax exemption for fuel cells located at a manufacturing facility.
  • Secured $182.5 million in fair market value reductions for an urban office property making a difficult transition from a single occupant to multi-tenant occupancy.
  • Settled property tax appeals for a portfolio of affordable housing properties for total fair market value reductions of over $6,400,000, generating over $800,000 in total tax savings.
  • Led a large-scale property tax compliance project for a big box discount retailer across two dozen jurisdictions.
  • By way of summary judgment, obtained a 100% property tax exemption for a charitable organization’s real estate and personal property thereby producing a significant tax refund that the non-profit owner could dedicate to its charitable mission.
  • Represented a client in a property tax appeal that resulted in a reduction of more than 50% of the assessed value of a vacant R&D facility and approximately $820,000 in tax savings.
  • Negotiated the settlement of a property tax appeal for a global headquarters campus that resulted in tax savings of $2,000,000.

We are currently assisting clients in evaluating and, when necessary, challenging their October 1, 2025 revaluation assessments and look forward to achieving more beneficial results for our clients in 2026.
