Daryl M. Johnson

Daryl M. Johnson is an associate in the firm's Real Estate and Business and Finance practices, focusing on commercial real estate, real estate finance, and business law, including business acquisitions and sales and general corporate matters. With nearly a decade of experience in real estate and corporate law, she guides clients through complex property transactions, contract negotiations, and corporate structuring.

Daryl's real estate practice covers commercial and residential real estate acquisitions and sales, representing buyers, sellers, borrowers, and lenders in a broad range of transactions. Her real estate finance work includes private financing and lending, seller financing, refinances, loan modifications, 1031 like-kind exchanges, and SBA 504 debenture financing. She regularly drafts and negotiates purchase and sale agreements, drafts and reviews commercial leases when needed, and she conducts title reviews and resolves title issues in collaboration with national title insurance underwriters. Daryl has also been expanding her practice to serve as counsel on public finance loan and grant transactions for Connecticut state agencies, as well as secured and unsecured lending transactions, participation loans, loan restructuring, and tax credit financing matters.

On the corporate side, Daryl handles business acquisitions and sales, corporate formation, and other general corporate matters. She has advised real estate investors and commercial lenders on compliance, zoning, and risk assessment issues affecting real estate transactions, as well as on the sale and purchase of real estate held by trusts and estates.

Earlier in her career, prior to joining Pullman & Comley, Daryl built her real estate and corporate practice as an associate at two Western Massachusetts-based law firms, representing buyers, sellers, borrowers, and lenders in similar real estate transactions. She also advised individuals, real estate investors, and commercial lenders on similar corporate and real estate matters. Daryl began her legal career serving as general counsel to Shelton Brothers Importers, a beer importer previously located in Belchertown, Massachusetts, where she managed litigation, advised on compliance with Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission (ABCC) regulations and other beer industry guidance, and oversaw human resources compliance for the company.
