Attorney Michael N. LaVelle Recipient of the JD Supra Readers’ Choice Award 2017

BRIDGEPORT, Connecticut: Pullman & Comley attorney Michael N. LaVelle, member of the Labor, Employment Law & Employee Benefits Department, is the recipient of the JD Supra Readers’ Choice award for writing articles that received top visibility and engagement on the JD Supra publishing platform over the past year, the law firm announced today.

Mr. LaVelle is a regular contributor to “Working Together”, Pullman & Comley’s blog covering legal issues related to employment and labor, as well as immigration, employee benefits and ERISA matters.

 Mr. LaVelle was ranked as the fourth most-read writer from the 1,523 authors in the “Food & Beverage Industry” category, with some of his most highly read topics on “wage and hour” and “employer liability issues.

For more than 40 years, Mr. LaVelle has been practicing in the areas of labor and employment law including employment discrimination, labor board and other administrative agency practice and wrongful discharge litigation, and municipal law. His experience includes extensive trial work before employment regulation agencies such as the Equal Employment Opportunities Commission, the Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities, the Workers Compensation Commission, state and federal Departments of Labor, the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs and the National Labor Relations Board.

Mr. LaVelle was recently honored by the Kennedy Center, one of the largest and most comprehensive rehabilitation facilities in the State of Connecticut, with the “Evelyn M. Kennedy Award” for dedication and exceptional service to persons with disabilities.  In addition to his work at the Kennedy Center, Mr. LaVelle serves as an officer and director of the Connecticut Association of Municipal Attorneys and is the chairman and serves on the board of directors for the Homes for the Brave, an organization that provides support and resources for homeless veterans. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Harvard College and his Juris Doctorate from Boston University.
