Second Circuit Court Affirms Ruling in Title IX Decision

The firm acted as co-counsel with The American Civil Liberties Union of Connecticut (ACLU) in representing the Quinnipiac University varsity volleyball team and their coach in their Title IX lawsuit brought against the university when it attempted to eliminate women's volleyball. A federal appeals court recently upheld the 2010 decision finding that colleges cannot count competitive cheerleading as a sport when trying to comply with gender-equity requirements under Title IX.
