AI Risk Roundtable: From Compliance Obligations to Insurance Readiness
Please join us on November 17 for a breakfast roundtable for business leaders and risk managers on AI governance, compliance, and insurance, led by Chris Cook of Blackbox Zero, Chris Bollig of Bellrock Insurance, and Attorney Russ Anderson of Pullman & Comley.
Companies deploying AI face a rapidly evolving compliance landscape. Existing legal principles regarding IP, data privacy, consumer protection, and employment discrimination already apply to many AI use cases, while new laws are emerging at both the federal and state level. Connecticut’s own SB 5 is among the most comprehensive. At the same time, AI incidents don’t map cleanly onto any existing insurance policy, and some insurers are now disclaiming AI coverage outright. This roundtable will address how to build a coherent AI governance program that addresses both regulatory compliance and insurance readiness.
Topics of discussion will include:
- How existing legal frameworks (privacy, employment, consumer protection) apply to AI use cases
- What Connecticut’s SB 5 and other emerging AI laws require of businesses
- What carriers are asking about AI in renewal applications and where coverage gaps exist
- Building an AI governance program that addresses both compliance and insurance readiness
