"Law firm risk managers should develop and implement protocols for their colleagues’ use of generative AI tools like ChatGPT," says Marcy, which include determining sufficient background and knowledge of the tool's potential deficiencies, checking the accuracy of case citations generated through an AI tool, and determining outside requirements to obtain written consent to use an AI tool.
