How to Get a Cannabis License in Connecticut

Kelly F. With recreational cannabis sales expected to begin later this year, the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection has launched an online platform for interested applicants to obtain a license to operate within the state as retailers and other industry businesses. While the process is not particularly complicated, Kelly notes, the awarding of licenses will be highly competitive and "the success rate for the lottery will be low."

Kelly emphasizes the importance of managing time in an application process with a limited window and extensive documentation requirements.
