Nancy Hancock Named 2026 Women of Innovation Finalist
Attorney Nancy A. D. Hancock, a member of law firm Pullman & Comley’s Executive Committee for its most significant growth years, has been named a 2026 Women of Innovation finalist by the Connecticut Technology Council in the category of Corporate Innovation & Leadership.
Nancy, who also serves as co-chair of Pullman & Comley’s Business Organizations and Finance practice, will be recognized along with other accomplished Connecticut women for their achievements in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) at the CTC’s 21st annual Women of Innovation Awards on Oct. 27 from 4:30-7 p.m. at The Woodwinds in Branford.
Nominees include scientists, researchers, academics, manufacturers, student leaders, entrepreneurs and technicians who are driving scientific advancement and business growth throughout Connecticut. The winners in each of the nine categories will be announced at the ceremony.
“As a leader at Pullman & Comley, Nancy has played a pivotal role in shaping our strategic direction and guiding us through significant periods of growth and innovation,” says Lee D. Hoffman, chair of the firm. “Her leadership has also included a consistent commitment to mentoring and empowering our associates, ensuring they have the opportunity to work closely with clients from their earliest days at the firm. Nancy is very deserving of this honor.”
All nominees must be currently working or studying in Connecticut, demonstrate strong leadership abilities and serve as a mentor: either short or long-term, peer, career or life mentor. Nominees also had to meet the specific requirements of the award category in which they were nominated.
Nancy chairs several of Pullman & Comley’s specific practice areas, including the Emerging Business and Venture Capital practice, which assists fast-growth start-up, early stage and emerging companies in their funding and development. She has served as corporate counsel to companies in such diverse fields as AI and network management software, imaging, vehicle suspension systems, aerospace, advanced manufacturing, web entertainment, gourmet content, web-based subscription services, logistics and product fulfillment.
Nancy’s influence as an innovator in corporate and technology law is reinforced by her deep engagement with the business community. She is a member of the Connecticut Angel Investor Forum. A member of the Connecticut, New York State Bar Associations, she also is a James W. Cooper Life Fellow of the Connecticut Bar Foundation — an honor reserved for the state’s most distinguished legal professionals.
Nancy was honored as Stamford’s “Lawyer of the Year” in Business Organizations by The Best Lawyers in America in 2019, 2021, and 2023, and has been listed in the guide since 2016. She is ranked in Chambers USA for her excellence in corporate and M&A law and was recognized in the 2026 Legal 500 US City Elite guide for Connecticut in the area of Corporate and M&A. Nancy has been named a Moffly Media Top Lawyer in Fairfield County for Corporate Finance and M&A since 2021. She was named a 2016 “Woman of Fire” by The Commercial Record, an award that honors women in the Finance, Insurance and Real Estate (FIRE) industries and “recognizes the most talented, ambitious, innovative and philanthropic women who are achieving excellence and making a difference in these traditionally male-dominated industries.”
“Congratulations to our 2026 Women of Innovation honorees! For 21 years, this program has celebrated the incredible women whose ideas, leadership and achievements are shaping Connecticut's innovation community,” says Milena Stankova Erwin, CTC’s Executive Director. “We’re proud to continue this tradition and look forward to recognizing the inspiring impact these women are making across Connecticut and beyond.”
