Jonathan Orleans Quoted in Forbes Article on Covid Vaccination Incentives

Jonathan B. Orleans, chair of Pullman & Comley's Labor and Employment Law practice, was recently quoted in a Forbes Magazine article on the risks and rewards for employers offering incentives, such as financial compensation or paid days off, to employees who get the Covid-19 vaccination.

While some companies think providing incentives will aid in ending the pandemic, others believe the decision to take a vaccine should not involve outside influences. John said “... providing employees with a financial incentive to get the vaccine is a fine idea, provided that employers don’t leave themselves open to discrimination claims. An employee who can’t be vaccinated due to a disability should probably be offered some alternative way to earn the reward.”
