Following the Fellows

Attorney Frederic S. Ury, who recently joined Pullman & Comley's Litigation practice, was highlighted in the Fall 2022 James W. Cooper Fellows of the Connecticut Bar Foundation newsletter, Following the Fellows, to discuss his involvement in organizations and volunteer efforts on behalf of his legal profession and beyond. Fred currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Connecticut Bar Foundation in an ex officio position after completing the maximum number of terms.

Throughout his career, Fred has demonstrated a sincere interest in the future of the legal profession, which has motivated him to study the forces of globalization, demographics and technology, and how they relate to the future practice of law. He has traveled around the country to educate and learn about the subject. While doing so, he has served in a multitude of leadership roles in legal organizations, including President of the Connecticut Bar Association, positions in the American Bar Association's Center for Professional Responsibility and its Division of Bar Services, President of the National Conference of Bar Presidents, and more.

Fred has also devoted a significant amount of time to pro bono and philanthropic activities throughout his career and is focused on the individuals affected by the justice challenges and how he can help them. Not only is he heavily involved in these activities; he is inspired by others in the profession who devote their time to other causes for the greater good.
