Property Tax and Valuation Attorney Brian L. McCann Joins Pullman & Comley

BRIDGEPORT, CT November 30, 2021 - Pullman & Comley is pleased to announce the addition of Brian L. McCann to the firm’s Property Tax and Valuation and Land Use practices.  Mr. McCann, a member of the firm, possesses extensive experience handling commercial, residential and personal property tax appeals, as well as eminent domain matters.  Brian represents businesses and individuals before municipal boards and commissions and has prosecuted and defended administrative appeals regarding issuance and denial of planning and zoning and inland wetland approvals.  He is based in the firm’s Bridgeport office.

Prior to joining Pullman & Comley, Brian served as Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of Norwalk and defended more than 1,000 property tax and other appeals to the Connecticut Superior Court.  Additionally, he drafted and implemented new blight and zoning citation ordinances, prosecuted injunctions to enforce code violations, defended the City in appeals to State agencies and various tort and liability actions, represented the City in eminent domain actions, drafted a Title VI compliance policy and various license agreements, easements, and land use deed restrictions.

Brian also has a significant amount of experience handling land use and real estate sales and acquisitions matters and assists owners and developers through all phases of planning and permitting necessary to obtain the desired approvals. 

Before receiving his law degree, Brian served as an environmental consultant, conservation compliance officer and as a zoning inspector.  His unique background and significant experience with municipal permit approvals enables Brian to understand his clients, their needs and how to successfully navigate the municipal application, approval and appeals process.  He currently serves on the Town of Fairfield Inland Wetland Agency and Conservation and is a member of the Connecticut Association of Municipal Attorneys.

Brian earned his B.S. from the University of Vermont and his J.D., cum laude, from Quinnipiac University School of Law.
