Campbell D. Barrett Named as President of the Connecticut Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers

BRIDGEPORT, CT: Campbell D. Barrett, chair of the Family Law Practice at Pullman & Comley, LLC, has been named president of the Connecticut Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML), the law firm announced today.

Campbell is a fellow of the AAML, recognized by the bench and bar as a leading practitioner in the area of matrimonial law. He maintains a general family law practice, specializing primarily in matrimonial and appellate matters.  Campbell has participated in hundreds of contested proceedings across the state in complex, high income/high net worth cases.  In addition, he has been lead counsel on more than 50 appeals to the Connecticut Supreme and Appellate Courts.

He currently serves as the co-chair of the Hartford Bar Associations’ Family Law Section, a role he has held since 2005.  Campbell frequently serves as a Special Master, a role that is appointed by a court to oversee one or more aspects of litigation, in Hartford, New Britain and Middletown. He has lectured and written frequently on appellate practice and family law, and is co-author of the book Same Sex Marriage: The Legal and Psychological Evolution in America

Campbell has been named a Top 50 Connecticut Super Lawyer and a Top 100 New England Super Lawyer multiple times.  He has also been recognized multiple times by Best Lawyers in America in the area of family law.  Campbell received his B.A. from Trinity College in 1992 and his J.D. from American University, in Washington D.C. in 1995.  He is admitted to practice in Connecticut and New York and has served as an adjunct instructor at the University of Connecticut School of Law.
