Attorney Joshua A. Hawks-Ladds Presented Human Resources Best Practices For Municipalities

Pullman & Comley Attorney Joshua A. Hawks-Ladds, chair of the firm's Labor, Employment Law and Employee Benefits Practice, presented at the Connecticut Conference of Municipalities (CCM) seminar on the topic, "CRCOG's Model Job Applications, Position Descriptions, and Handbooks: Training on Municipal Best Practices and Limiting Legal Exposure" on Friday, March 10, 2017.

Sponsored by the Capitol Region Council of Governments (CRCOG), Attorney Hawks-Ladd's interactive presentation provided sample human resource templates, covered required and best practice components for employee handbooks, explained legal context for select provisions, and identified recent federal and state legislative changes that may have rendered existing municipal handbook documents out-of-date and non-compliant.  Municipal attorneys, Mayors, First Selectmen, City and Town Managers, and Personnel Directors were encouraged to attend.
