The new Title IX regulations regarding sexual harassment in K-12 schools went into effect August 14, 2020.  These regulations made significant changes in the way that K-12 schools must address sexual harassment including how schools must now investigate complaints of sexual harassment.  The regulations require that all individuals involved in the Title IX process, including Title IX Coordinators, Investigators, Decision-Makers, Appeal Decision Makers and anyone involved in an Informal Resolution Process must be properly trained.

Pullman & Comley is proud to offer Title IX training for your staff and will work with your district to design a custom-made training program to fit your needs.  Our current Title IX offerings include:

Title IX Introductory Training

This training is designed for anyone at the K-12 level who is involved in the Title IX process.  Your staff will learn the basics of Title IX compliance including how to define sexual discrimination and sexual harassment under the new regulations and how that integrates with other state and federal laws including state anti-bullying and anti-discrimination laws.  This course will provide an in-depth review of the new regulations and how they apply in the K-12 setting.  Attendees will learn the functions of each role within the process and will have a brief overview of the investigation and decision-making process.  This course meets the basic requirements for training under the 2020 Title IX regulations.

Investigator/Decision-Maker Training

This training is designed for those individuals who will be performing sexual harassment investigations and/or acting as decision-makers in the formal complaint process.  This is a hands-on course that will provide attendees with the skills to conduct an investigation of sexual harassment within the K-12 setting.  Attendees will learn the basics of investigation and then practice these skills through scenarios taken from case law and real-life situations.

Each training is designed to be three (3) hours, but the length and content can be customized to fit your needs.
