Pullman & Comley Attorney Michael Andreana Honored with Founder’s Award from CT Main Street Center

BRIDGEPORT, CT June 14, 2024 — Pullman & Comley, LLC attorney Michael J. Andreana will be presented with the Connecticut Main Street Center Founder’s Award for his nearly 10 years of service on the CMSC Board of Directors at the organization’s 2024 Awards of Excellence on June 18 at Hotel Callista in downtown Norwich.

The CMSC Founder’s Award is presented in recognition of individuals and organizations who dedicate themselves to promoting an awareness of the necessity of a comprehensive management approach to the revitalization of Connecticut’s historic downtowns and neighborhood commercial districts.

Mike is co-chair of Pullman & Comley’s Public and Private Finance practice and is a member of the firm's Executive Committee. He served as CMSC board chair during the Covid pandemic and was lauded for his steady leadership. Mike was also the principal drafter of Public Act No. 15-57 (codified as Chapter 105b in the Connecticut General Statutes), Connecticut's new Tax Increment Financing (TIF) financing statute which permits the use of real property tax increment revenues for private development.  He has assisted in the creation of more than a half dozen TIF districts in Connecticut.

“Mike understands the importance of working to make your community a better place,” says Lee D. Hoffman, chair of Pullman & Comley. “Creating TIF districts is so important because it directly enables revitalization and growth. By leveraging public funds into private development, Mike’s work has been transformative for communities and helped produce tangible results that have positively impacted the people of Connecticut.”

Mike counsels both public and private entities in all types of government finance transactions, and serves as bond counsel to the Connecticut Health and Educational Facilities Authority, the Connecticut Airport Authority and several cities and towns. He also represents underwriters and 501(c)(3) borrowers in connection with the issuance of general obligation and revenue bonds.

Listed in The Best Lawyers in America in the area of public finance law since 2012, Mike was also named 2015 “Member of the Year” by the Connecticut Economic Development Association. He is a board member of Greater Hartford Legal Aid and also coaches youth lacrosse. Mike received his B.S., with honors, from University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School, and his J.D. from Duke University School of Law.
