Mark Sommaruga to Speak on Connecticut’s Freedom of Information Act

Pullman & Comley attorney Mark J. Sommaruga will present a workshop entitled "Understanding Connecticut's Freedom of Information Act (Including Recent Updates)" at an upcoming workshop hosted by the Connecticut Conference of Municipalities (CCM).

Mark's presentation will cover the open meetings and public records requirements of Connecticut's Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) along with the numerous exceptions that are often misconstrued. The session will provide practical, updated guidance to state board and commission members and municipal officers seeking to navigate the Act. Special attention will be paid to remote and hybrid meeting requirements, as well as recent revisions to the FOIA, including increased fines and penalties.
