Working Together Webinar Series: Part V - An Overview of CT Freedom of Information Act and Personnel Files Act Requirements: What Employers Need to Know

12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. EDT

Pullman & Comley's Working Together Webinar Series covers a variety of topics relating to human resources, labor and employment issues and will continue on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 with a webinar dedicated to the Connecticut Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and the Connecticut Personnel Files Act.

The Connecticut FOIA applies to personnel files of public employees/employers, while the Connecticut Personnel Files Act applies to private employers/employees. These two Acts have differing provisions on employee access to and what can be disclosed from personnel files. Attorneys Zachary Schurin and Mark Sommaruga will provide a review of these legal requirements along with any updates to the statutes (and from the courts). Topics to be covered include:

  • a review of employer obligations and response procedures for personnel files' requests
  • Useful tips and recommended best-practices for personnel file management to avoid legal liability
  • an overview of obligations and complaint procedures under the Connecticut Personnel Files Act

Please RSVP using this link to register.  There will be time for Q&A following the presentation.

The date and topic of the last webinar in the Pullman & Comley Working Together Webinar Series is listed below. The webinar will run from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. Early registration is now open; additional details to follow.
