Judge Marshall Berger (Ret.) to Take Part in Sheff v. O’Neill 30th Anniversary Reception

Retired Judge Marshall K. Berger of Pullman & Comley's ADR practice will participate in a public forum commemorating the 30th anniversary of the landmark Connecticut Supreme Court decision Sheff v. O’Neill. The program will feature advocates, alumni, and conversations with key figures involved in the litigation. 

In Sheff v. O'Neill (1996), the Connecticut Supreme Court held that extreme racial and ethnic isolation in Hartford-area public schools violated students' constitutional right to a substantially equal educational opportunity, prompting statewide efforts to expand educational access through initiatives such as magnet schools and interdistrict choice programs, to reduce racial and economic isolation and expand equal educational access.
