Lee Hoffman Featured Panelist and Technical Program Vice Chair at 2018 National Air & Waste Management Association Conference

Pullman & Comley attorney Lee D. Hoffman, chair of the firm's Environmental, Energy and Telecommunications practice, was named the ACE co-chair and the Technical Program Vice Chair of the 2018 National Air & Waste Management Association Conference.

During the conference, Lee moderated the panel, "Air Quality Status of EPA Region 1." The session featured David Conroy, the Chief of the Air Programs Branch of EPA Region 1 and the chiefs of the air sections of the six New England environmental regulatory agencies. Among other topics, these leaders discussed their ongoing efforts to reduce concentrations of ozone, efforts to reduce emissions of particulate matter and the impact of transportation sources on various air quality standards, and the actions that are underway to control those emissions.

Lee was also a featured panelist for "Challenges in Siting and Permitting Renewable Energy Projects." This session consisted of a developer of renewable energy projects, an expert on the technical aspects of permitting and siting of projects, and a permitting lawyer. The panelists examined the various challenges that may befall renewable energy projects and what can be done to make sure that such projects are permitted and sited appropriately.
