In celebration of Thanksgiving this year, we are proud to highlight the work of four nonprofit organizations that are doing incredible work in the community. In 2025, we have supported ImmaCare in Hartford, nOURish Bridgeport, and Open Pantry Community Services and Friends of the Homeless (a program of Clinical and Support Options) in Springfield, through both volunteer efforts and sponsorship. Here is a look at each organization’s mission:
ImmaCare Inc. is dedicated to eliminating homelessness in the Hartford region by providing safe and affordable housing options and empowering individuals through skill-building, income support, and fostering hope. Their mission is to create a vibrant and inclusive community by addressing the root causes of housing instability and offering meaningful solutions for those experiencing a housing crisis. Since its founding in 2009, nOURish Bridgeport, Inc. has worked to address food insecurity and scarcity through education, health programs, and direct services. With ten programs tailored to meet the needs of their community, the organization also fosters partnerships across Fairfield County and Connecticut, connecting those with resources to those in need. Each year, they welcome over 2,500 volunteers, embodying the belief that collaborative efforts lead to greater good for everyone. Open Pantry Community Services
Open Pantry Community Services strives to improve equity, wellness, and quality of life for individuals and families throughout the Springfield region. Through a wide range of services, including education and advocacy, the organization focuses on combating poverty and building partnerships to foster a supportive and inclusive community. Its mission is to raise awareness and implement impactful programs that uplift diverse populations facing economic challenges. Pullman & Comley is a sponsor of the 14th Annual Stuffing the Pantry Road Race and Walk to support the Open Pantry. The event raises money and accumulates food donations to help sustain Open Pantry Community Services’ programs and outreach. Greater Springfield and Western Massachusetts experience the highest levels of food insecurity in the state, making efforts like this essential to supporting our neighbors in need. Friends of the Homeless, a program of Clinical and Support Options, works to address homelessness and housing instability in Springfield and Western Massachusetts through support services, education, and advocacy. They run multiple programs tailored to the specific needs of their community, ranging from emergency shelters and transitional housing to job-training and outreach. The organization also builds strong partnerships with local agencies, nonprofits, and government entities across Springfield and the surrounding region, connecting individuals experiencing homelessness with critical resources and support.
