PRESS RELEASE: Pullman & Comley's Hartford Women's Networking Tea Spotlights Work of Young Women's Leadership Corps

HARTFORD,:  The Women’s Leadership Initiative at Pullman & Comley hosted its annual Hartford Networking Tea on Thursday, September 20 at the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum in Hartford, Connecticut.

The event, which brings together business women and community leaders from the Greater Hartford region, included as its featured guest the Young Women’s Leadership Corps (YWLC).  A program of the YWCA Hartford Region, since 2001 the YWLC has encouraged teen girls grades 7-12 in the Hartford region to excel in school, attend college and be prepared for a career.  This free, after-school and summer program reinforces each participant’s core academic education and prepares her for lifetime success with an emphasis on; personal growth and accountability, financial capability and career readiness and exploration.  YWLC serves underrepresented youth who lack connections, helping them to advance their education, plan for a career and build critical life skills, develop a positive life plan and ultimately become financially stable with a career that pays a self-sufficiency wage.
