Attorney Lee Hoffman, who chairs Pullman & Comley's  Energy and Environmental practice, was quoted in a piece on Connecticut Public Radio about a 130-acre solar in Simsbury that is now operational and producing power.

Representatives for the Tobacco Valley Solar Farm notified the state Siting Council in a letter on Tuesday, December 10, 2019.  “The Tobacco Valley Solar project has reached its commercial operation date and will begin generating electricity at this time,” Attorney  Hoffman, who represents the developer, wrote in the letter.”

“It is producing about 26 megawatts of energy a year, which is enough to power the equivalent of 5,000 houses,” Simsbury First Selectman Eric Wellman told Connecticut Public Radio. “It’s about 100,000 solar panels, so it’s pretty impressive.”

The Tobacco Valley project one of the largest solar projects in New England.
