Joshua Hawks-Ladds Comments on Connecticut’s Expansion of Anti-discrimination Law

When it comes to passing anti-discrimination laws, “Connecticut again is at the forefront,” according to Joshua Hawks-Ladds, chairman of Pullman & Comley’s Labor and Employment practice.  On October 1, 2011, Connecticut became one of 14 states plus the District of Columbia to ban discrimination based on gender identity or expression.  The article, “Gender Identity Law Poses Challenge For Employers,” notes that it is still unclear how the statute will affect the workplace.  Josh observed that “where that legislation will put us in the courts…has yet to be seen.”
