The article debates the question of whether a crime is committed when an act of carelessness results in a child's death.
According to Alan, "As a prosecutor, you have to distinguish the parents who are very good parents, who have no history of child abuse, from someone who does something either intentionally, or as the result of being wanton or reckless."
