Erick Russell Featured on Connecticut Public Radio's Where We Live Talk Show

Connecticut Public Radio’s Where We Live

Erick Russell, attorney in Pullman & Comley's Government Finance practice, was a featured speaker on Connecticut Public Radio’s Where We Live talk show, where he discussed the recent Title VII SCOTUS ruling protecting LGBT workers, the intersection of the LGBT rights movement and Black Lives Matter, and diversity in the legal field.

When asked about the recent Supreme Court ruling on federal sex discrimination protections being extended to gay and transgender workers, and affording more protections for the LGBTQ community, Erick says "This was obviously a very big victory for the LGBTQ community. I think one thing that's really important to note about the case is that the decision is limited to the employer-employee context. So, while this was huge,... gender identity and sexual orientation are still the basis for discrimination in many other aspects of life like housing, education, so on and so forth... There is so much work to be done as far as LGBTQ rights are concerned."
