Danielle Erickson Recognized as a Finalist for ALM's Most Promising Newcomer

Connecticut Law Tribune

Pullman & Comley Trusts and Estates Attorney Danielle Erickson has been selected as a finalist for the New England Legal Awards’ Most Promising Newcomer Award, an honor recognizing attorneys with three or fewer years in practice who have shown remarkable potential, initiative, and legal skill.

In a Q&A with the New England Legal Awards, Danielle shared insights into her accomplishments and aspirations. Reflecting on her greatest achievement thus far, she noted, “My greatest accomplishment since becoming a lawyer was being selected as a presidential fellow as a part of the Connecticut Bar Association Presidential Fellows Program. The program identifies young lawyers who have demonstrated leadership potential and assists them in developing their leadership skills and enhancing their involvement in the legal field.” Danielle explained that, although initially hesitant, she applied for the program at the encouragement of Pullman & Comley’s managing partner, and has since become actively involved in bar association initiatives and continuing legal education programs for attorneys.

Looking ahead, Danielle shared her career aspirations, stating, “In the short term, my aspiration is to earn my LL.M. in taxation. Going back to school, while still working, and obtaining this degree will be beneficial to my career as I expand my practice and work on more complicated estate planning, estate and trust administration, and non-profit corporate matters. Beyond this, I hope to take on more leadership roles, both at my firm and in the bar association.” She also reflected on the importance of mentorship in her journey, adding, “The mentors and mentorship that I have received at each stage of my life have been highly influential to my success… I am incredibly lucky to work with intelligent and kind people who are always willing to talk with me about anything, from client matters to how to progress in my career.” Danielle also emphasized the importance of seeking out mentorship herself, saying, “While in school, whether it be high school, college, or law school, I cultivated relationships with several teachers or professors that I felt personally connected to… Now, in my legal practice, I have continued this habit of seeking mentors and mentorship.”
