Attorney Dana M. Hrelic Appointed by the American Bar Association

BRIDGEPORT, CT, December 20, 2021: Attorney Dana M. Hrelic was appointed by the American Bar Association in August 2021 to serve a three-year term on its Standing Committee on the Federal Judiciary representing the First Circuit federal courts. The first Judicial Circuit comprises Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Puerto Rico and Rhode Island.

For over sixty years, the Standing Committee on the Federal Judiciary has been evaluating the professional qualifications of all nominees to the Supreme Court of the United States, circuit courts of appeals, district courts (including territorial district courts) and the Court of International Trade. Their goal is to support the selection of the best qualified individuals for the federal judiciary. Appointees are selected under the Committee’s peer-review process, including impartial evaluations of the integrity, professional competence and judicial temperament. 

The Committee consists of fifteen members, ranging across the thirteen federal judicial circuits. Throughout one’s three-year term, roughly hundreds of hours per year on a voluntary basis to provide this vital public service.

Dana M. Hrelic is Counsel at Pullman & Comley, LLC and has represented clients before the Connecticut Appellate and Supreme Courts as well as the Second Circuit Court of Appeals, the Third Circuit Court of Appeals, the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals, the Supreme Court of the United States, and the Supreme Court of the U.S. Virgin Islands.  She also has experience working on appellate matters in the Eleventh Circuit.  She has argued or sat as second chair in a large number of appeals in these courts.

An accomplished appellate and commercial litigation attorney, Dana has substantial experience in state, territorial, and federal appeals in the areas of constitutional law, complex litigation and business law, family law, juvenile law, personal injury, administrative law, civil procedure, probate law, and criminal law. 

In addition to serving on the Standing Committee, Dana continues her extensive participation in various roles with the Connecticut Bar Association and the American Bar Association across the past decade. She is also a member of the American Counsel Association, Virgin Islands Bar Association and American Bar Foundation. Connecticut Super Lawyers and New England Super Lawyers have both recognized Dana in the Appellate Practice area since 2013.

Dana earned her B.A., with distinction from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her J.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Law.
