SEMINAR: Friends With (Health, Retirement, and Dental) Benefits – Social Media & The Hiring Process

The days of paper resumes and blind newspaper ads are so 1999.  But the age of Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter, to name a few, now creates new challenges. Information overload – some good, some bad, some illegal to consider --  is the name of the game and things aren’t getting any easier.  Daniel Schwartz, a partner in the Labor and Employment practice at Pullman & Comley, LLC and the author of the nationally-recognized Connecticut Employment Law Blog, addressed a meeting of the Staffing Management Association about how to separate fact from fiction when it comes to the hiring process and the law.  He covered the basics of the applicable laws, and also discuss how social media has changed the workplace forever.  Stay on top of the legal developments in the area and learn how some employers are using social media to their advantage as well.
