Westport Legal Breakfast Roundtable Discussion Series:   Connecticut's New Paid Family and Medical Leave Act and What Employers Need to Know

Please join us in our new and expanded Westport office for an outstanding lineup of roundtable discussions across a spectrum of legal topics.   Each meeting will provide you with the opportunity to engage in conversations with our attorneys, who will lead discussions on issues that have an impact on your business, your finances and your personal life.

Topics will include:

October 24        Connecticut's New Paid Family and Medical Leave Act:
                                    What Employers Need to Know

This roundtable will provide an overview of the new Act, which not only adopts paid family and medical leave in Connecticut, but makes other significant changes in the current law. The Act will make family and medical leave requirements applicable to ALL employers who have at least ONE employee, so many small businesses will be covered for the first time. We will cover topics such as:

  • Who is an eligible employee?
  • Who are eligible family members?
  • How are the payments funded?
  • How is the program administered?
  • How much leave may be taken?
  • What is required of employers?
  • What are the significant deadlines?
