On Monday, June 12, 2017, several attorneys from Pullman & Comley spoke at the 2017 Connecticut Legal Conference, sponsored by the Connecticut Bar Association.  This day-long event consisted of multiple CLE sessions, CBA's annual luncheon meeting, and a networking reception.

Tax Traps in Partnerships and LLC's

Attorney Morris W. Banks, who practices in the areas of Business and Finance, Mergers and Acquisitions, and Tax, will speak on the new IRS partnership audit rules and ways to avoid unintended negative tax consequences and liability.  This program will also address self-employment tax issues for owners and managers of LLCs, as well as how to avoid the unintended recognition of gain on the formation of a LLC.

Climate Change, Securities Regulation, and Business Insurance: A New Paradigm

Environmental Law and Litigation member attorney Christopher P. McCormack will participate on this panel, focusing on two areas in which objective facts concerning climate change are addressed in concrete analytical terms: for property and casualty insurers as they evaluate and underwrite risks, and for businesses as they identify, estimate and disclose potentially material financial contingencies.

Commercial Law and Bankruptcy: Year in Review
