The Fairfield County Business Journal captured the past, present and future of Pullman & Comley in its September 2019 profile of the firm, which was founded in 1919 in Bridgeport, Connecticut and is celebrating its centennial this year.

Reflecting on what it takes for a law firm to last 100 years, Tim Shearin, chairman, said, "It sounds simple, but it’s true. It’s the people and the service we provide to our clients. Our staff is smart, hardworking and dedicated to our clients...if we continue to follow that strategy, we will continue to thrive.”

Attorney Geoff Fay of the firm's Real Estate practice noted that the firm has taken a lead in tackling environmental issues and redevelopment in a number of areas. He cited the Government Finance and Real Estate practices' involvement in the transformation of the blighted site of the former North American Phonograph Co. into Cherry Street Lofts in Bridgeport as a significant example.

The firm has also remained at the forefront of emerging business areas such as cannabis and alternative energy, said Nancy Hancock, a member of the firm's Executive Committee who chairs Pullman & Comley's Emerging Business and Venture Capital practice.

The firm's tagline is "Pulling Together. Succeeding Together."  As a way of commemorating the firm's 100th anniversary this year, Pullman & Comley is participating in a year of community service projects throughout Connecticut.  "Our goal is 100% participation," said Real Estate attorney Joshua Cole, "and we're nearing that."

And finally, part of the firm's success comes from continuing to offer its up-and-coming lawyers opportunity and responsibility.  "As much responsibility as they're willing to accept, we give it to them," said Adam J. Cohen, who co-chairs the firm's Associate Recruiting Committee.
