Property Tax and Valuation Paralegal

Pullman & Comley, LLC is seeking a full time paralegal for its very active and collegial Property Tax and Valuation Department (PTVD) consisting of five attorneys and two paralegals.  The professionals of the PTVD primarily represent the owners of significant commercial properties of all types in property tax appeals throughout Connecticut and Massachusetts.  They also represent the owners of properties in eminent domain (condemnation) appeals.

The successful candidate should have experience in all aspects of Connecticut state court litigation including preparing complaints and motions, arranging service of process, assisting with the preparation of discovery responses and objections, supporting the conduct and defense of depositions and aiding with the retention of expert witnesses.  Also, the paralegal will assist with all aspects of the preparation for and the conduct of trials.  The position will require periodic legal research assignments and the preparation of written work product such as memoranda and briefs.  Proficiency with Excel spreadsheets is required.  Exposure to real estate matters would be helpful but is not required.  The position involves extensive interaction with clients, experts, municipal officials and court personnel so strong written and verbal communication skills are important.  Good organizational skills are also important.
