Attorney Assaf Z. Ben-Atar of Pullman & Comley, LLC in Bridgeport is a recipient of this year’s “40 Under 40” award from the Fairfield County Business Journal, the law firm reported today.
The Fairfield County Business Journal presents the “40 Under 40” award to individuals under 40 who have demonstrated leadership roles and are part of Fairfield County’s business growth. Assaf and the other recipients of the award were honored at an awards ceremony on June 30 at The Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk.
Assaf, an associate in the firm’s Litigation Department, practices in the areas of complex commercial litigation, including business disputes, insurance coverage, real estate and land use litigation, municipal law, community associations, white collar criminal defense and health care. He serves on Pullman & Comley's Diversity and Technology committees, and also leads the firm's internal pro bono initiative to represent Holocaust survivors applying for retroactive “Ghetto Pensions” from the German government.
An active member of the legal community, Mr. Ben-Atar serves as an Executive Committee member of the Insurance Coverage section of the Connecticut Bar Association, and is also a member of the American Bar Association, the Fairfield County Bar Association, and WESFACCA. He serves as a board member for Star, Inc. Lighting the Way; and was the 2013 class representative to the Board of Directors for Leadership Greater Bridgeport. Assaf is also a recipient of the 2014 Connecticut Law Tribune’s “New Leaders in the Law” award. Assaf received his B.A. from Brandeis University in 2007 and his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law in 2010.
