IN THE NEWS: Alan Sobol Describes Parents And Child Abuse History

Connecticut Law Tribune

Pullman & Comley White Collar, Criminal Defense and Corporate Investigations Practice Chair Alan Sobol was quoted in an article titled, "Lawyer's Husband Indicted in Baby's Hot Car Death."  The article follows up on the debate regarding whether a crime is committed and, if so, whether in a prosecutor's discretion it should be prosecuted when an act of carelessness results in a child's death.

According to Alan, "As a prosecutor, you have to distinguish the parents who are very good parents, who have no history of child abuse, from someone who does something either intentionally, or as the result of being wanton or reckless."
