PRESS RELEASE: Pullman & Comley Awarded Top Honors for Pro Bono Service Campaign

BRIDGEPORT, Conn.:  Pullman & Comley, LLC was recognized last evening by the Connecticut Bar Association Young Lawyers Section (YLS) for its contribution to the $1 Million Pro Bono Service Campaign, the law firm announced today.  The firm has been welcomed as a member of the $150,000 Club, designated to firms that performed in excess of $150,000 worth of pro bono service, and honored for the Highest Percentage of Attorneys Participating in a Large Firm.

In total, 707.5 hours of pro bono work was performed by 55 Pullman & Comley attorneys (68.75%) during the three month period from March-May 2013.  The work performed during this time ranged from helping an artist retrieve stolen artwork to assisting Holocaust survivors in receiving reparations from the German government, and reflects the firm’s long tradition of serving individuals and nonprofit organizations who need legal counsel.   

“We are humbled and thrilled to be recognized for our accomplishments,” said Adam Cohen, who leads Pullman & Comley’s Pro Bono Initiative. “We were proud to be able to do our part to help those that would otherwise have not had legal representation.”

In total, the YLS Campaign had a goal of increasing pro bono service and awareness throughout the state by performing $1,000,000 worth of pro bono services.  Nearly 50 individuals and/or law firms signed the pledge committing to jointly perform 4,211 pro bono hours during this three-month period.  At the end of the campaign, 8,807 pro bono hours were performed equating to more than $2.2 million worth of pro bono services.
