PRESS RELEASE: T. Scott Cowperthwait Elected President of Board of Directors of InfraGard Connecticut Members Alliance

BRIDGEPORT, Conn.:  T. Scott Cowperthwait, an attorney with Pullman & Comley, LLC, has been elected as president of the board of directors of the Connecticut chapter of InfraGard, the law firm reported today.

InfraGard, a national program created by the Federal Bureau of Investigation in 1996, is a collaborative partnership between the public and private sectors dedicated to information sharing and analysis effort to protect critical infrastructure and prevent hostile acts against the United States.  InfraGard Connecticut, which is comprised of approximately 1,000 members representing nearly 600 organizations, focuses on increasing communication between Connecticut-based organizations and between those organizations and the local, state and federal government concerning critical infrastructure, homeland security and cybersecurity issues, improving security awareness and standards and protecting against the exploitation of security vulnerabilities.  Scott has been a member of the board of directors of InfraGard Connecticut since 2009.

Scott’s practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, white collar criminal defense and corporate internal investigations, and cybersecurity and infrastructure protection issues.  He advises a broad range of industries on local, state and federal laws and regulations relating to cybersecurity, technology and infrastructure protection.  He regularly assists clients with compliance and the development of strategic and emergency management and preparedness planning in order to minimize the risk and liability associated with a data security breach, natural disaster or man-made event. 

Scott received his J.D. from Quinnipiac University School of Law and his B.A. from Gettysburg College.  In 2010 he received the "40 Under 40" Business Leaders Award from the Fairfield County Business Journal, and was named to the Super Lawyers "Connecticut Rising Stars" list  in the area of Business Litigation on 2010, 2011, and 2011/2012.
