PRESS RELEASE: Steven J. Bonafonte Joins Pullman & Comley, LLC as Partner
HARTFORD: Attorney Steven J. Bonafonte has joined Pullman & Comley, LLC as a partner in the Corporate and Business Department and Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Protection practice, the law firm announced today.

Prior to joining Pullman & Comley, Steve served as managing corporate counsel/enterprise privacy and corporate compliance officer at a Fortune 100 financial services company, where he led a team of attorneys and other professional staff in managing global privacy practices and diverse corporate compliance initiatives. Steve also developed legal anti-fraud protocols and directed major case investigations and filing of affirmative civil anti-fraud RICO litigation against suspected fraudulent medical providers. Prior to these roles, he provided principal legal counsel to several diverse internal business groups including Information Technology (internal compliance, vendor contracts), Marketing and Communications (legal review and compliance) and Global Sourcing (cross-border data transfer, business continuity).
Steve was appointed by the Chief Justice of the Connecticut Supreme Court as a representative member on the State of Connecticut's Commission on the Death Penalty, serving from 2001-2003. He also served as a member of the City of Hartford's Civilian Police Review Board from 2000-2002 and as the City of Hartford's human relations commissioner from 2000-2002. Steve is currently commissioner of the Hartford Redevelopment Agency and a volunteer director of The Knox Foundation, Inc. He has served on numerous other non-profit and public boards and commissions: he was commissioner of The Metropolitan District of Hartford from 2002 to 2007; chairman of the Hartford Parking Authority from 2002-2003; a member of the Hartford South Downtown Neighborhood Revitalization Zone Board from 2002 to 2007; and a member of the board of directors of the Bushnell Park Foundation, Inc., from 2002 to 2006. Steve is a member of Leadership Greater Hartford’s Class of 2000 and received the “40 under 40” leadership award in 2000.
Steve received his B.A. from Gettysburg College and his J.D., cum laude, from Quinnipiac University School of Law. He is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP).
