HARTFORD: Daniel A. Schwartz, an attorney with Pullman & Comley, LLC in Hartford, is a recipient of this year’s “40 Under 40” award from the Hartford Business Journal, the law firm reported today.
The Hartford Business Journal presents the “40 Under 40” award to individuals under 40 in Central Connecticut who have leadership roles in the region. Dan and the other recipients of the award will be honored at an awards ceremony on September 30 at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford.
Dan, 39, is a member of Pullman & Comley’s Labor and Employment Section and Litigation Department. He has extensive trial and litigation experience in both the federal and state courts in a variety of areas, including commercial litigation and trade secret enforcement. He also represents employers in various employment law matters such as employment discrimination, restrictive covenants, human resources, retaliation and whistle blowing, and wage and hour issues.
Dan is the author of the independent Connecticut Employment Law Blog, one of the most widely-read blogs of its kind in the nation. The blog discusses new and noteworthy events in labor and employment law on a daily basis. In 2009, the ABA Journal named it one of the top 100 blogs produced by lawyers (the "Blawg 100"). That same year, Dan was named as one of only 50 “Legal Rebels” nationwide by the ABA Journal for bringing innovation and new ideas to the legal profession.
Dan is a frequent presenter on a wide range of employment law and commercial litigation topics, and has been interviewed by newspapers, radio and television programs, and legal blogs on employment law topics. He has appeared multiple times on WNPR’s “Where We Live” and been referenced in The Wall Street Journal, the Hartford Courant, and the Connecticut Law Tribune. He serves as chair of the Future of the Connecticut Bar Association Task Force at the Connecticut Bar Association and is a member of the Standing Committee on Technology and Information Systems and the Labor and Employment and Litigation sections of the American Bar Association. Dan is also a member of the American Bar Association House of Delegates, and was recently named to its Technology and Communications Committee.
He received his J.D. from Washington University School of Law and his B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania.
