CONFERENCE: Pullman & Comley School Law Attorneys to Speak at 2018 CABE/CAPSS Convention

Two members of Pullman & Comley's School Law Practice are workshop presenters at the 2018 CABE/CAPSS Convention on November 16 and 17 at the Mystic Marriott in Groton, CT.

On November 16 attorney Mark J. Sommaruga, chairman of the firm's School Law Practice, will be presenting (along with Thomas Hennick from the Connecticut Freedom of Information Commission) on "Understanding Connecticut’s Freedom of Information Act," a workshop designed to provide further guidance to board members and school administrators seeking to navigate the maze of edicts and exceptions associated with the FOIA, along with updates on the FOIA from interesting cases.

On November 17 attorney Michael P. McKeon will be presenting, "Unsocial Media: Cyberbullying, Sexting and How to Regulate Communications in the Digital Age.” This presentation will provide school board members and district administrators with a greater understanding of their obligations and their rights in response to cyberbullying, sexting and other inappropriate uses of students electronic devices. The goal is to provide school district personnel with a clear directive as to what they can and cannot do when confronting "unsocial media" and thereby avoiding disruptions to the educational process.

Pullman & Comley is proud to be a sponsor of CABE, CAPSS and the annual Convention.
