Attorney Brad Mondschein of Pullman & Comley’s Alternative Energy and Business and Finance practices was a speaker at the recent International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) Retail Green Conference: Redefining Sustainability.
Brad moderated a panel on project financing on Tuesday, November 28, “How to Use Creative Project Financing to Reimagine Your Real Estate.” The first part of the session featured case studies that illustrated how an integrative approach (including design, strategy and financing) can bring bold sustainability projects to life. The second part of the panel was designed to equip participants with specific tools needed to present compelling project financing solutions to decision makers in their organizations.
On November 29, Brad spoke at the general session as a panelist on “Behind the Scenes of 2017: Prognostications and Predictions for Environmental Policy.”
In recent years, the shopping center industry has become subject to laws and proposals that aim to prevent pollution, reduce wastes, protect human health, conserve energy, and protect wildlands. Will anything change in the new presidential administration? What kinds of legislative proposals exist in the 114th Congress to promote sustainable efforts? This informal session featured members of the ICSC Government Relations Environmental Committee discussing the unique policy challenges facing the shopping center industry.
