Pullman & Comley Attorneys Present at 2015 Connecticut Legal Conference

Several of Pullman & Comley's attorneys participated in the 2015 Connecticut Legal Conference, sponsored by the Connecticut Bar Association, which is the largest annual gathering of legal professionals in the state.

Below is a list of the attorneys and the topics they discussed:

SESSION A:
Time: 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.
Rachel L. Ginsburg, an associate in Pullman & Comley's Labor, Employment Law & Employee Benefits practice, reviewed Ellen Pao's gender discrimination case against Kleiner Perkins during a panel on racial and gender issues. 

SESSION B:
Time: 10:30 a.m - 12:00 p.m.
In the Business Law Track, Business and Finance attorney Morris W. Banks gave an in-depth analysis of the advantages of an LLC operating agreement.

During the Real Property / Environmental Law / Planning and Zoning Track, Environmental Law and Litigation attorney Christopher P. McCormack  moderated a panel that examined environmental issues encountered in commercial real estate and business transactions.

In the Ethics Track, David P. Atkins, a member of Pullman & Comley's Professional Liability Section, spoke on professional liability and legal ethics for lawyers. 

SESSION C:
Time: 2:15 p.m. - 3:45 p.m.
Chairman of the firm and a member of the Litigation Department, Attorney James T. Shearin
joined a panel to address strategies for building a diverse and inclusive law firm and the benefits that result.

Family Law attorney Campbell D. Barrett, discussed how to best protect a client involved in a dissolution case that involves ownership interest in a closely held business.

SESSION D:
Time: 4:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Pullman & Comley's Bankruptcy and Creditors' Rights Attorney Jonathan A. Kaplan participated on a panel that reviewed this year's case law related to Chapter 11, consumer and corporate bankruptcy filings, and commercial law.

Marcy Trench Stovall, a Litigation and Professional Liability attorney, spoke on a panel reviewing the changes made to this year's CBA Professional Ethics rules. 

On the Labor and Employment Law Track, Rachel L. Ginsburg was joined by Labor and Employment Counseling, Training and Litigation attorney Megan Youngling Carannante for a presentation on the regulation of medical marijuana and the current issues it raises in the workplace.

For the Real Property / Environmental Law / Planning and Zoning Track, Pullman & Comley's Real Estate and Land Use attorney Michael A. Ceccorulli gave his annual review of statutes and legislation that affects the real estate practice.
