Alan S. Parker is chair of the firm’s Trusts & Estates Department. He practices in the areas of estate planning and trust and estate administration. He counsels individuals and institutional fiduciaries concerning their role as executor, trustee and conservator.
Alan also is engaged in counseling individuals and nonprofit organizations on activities relating to tax exempt issues, including private foundations and community foundations. He has conducted seminars on estate planning and nonprofit organization issues.

- Preparation of wills and trust agreements designed to minimize estate and generation-skipping taxes
- Preparation of various forms of charitable trusts designed to obtain current income tax and subsequent estate tax benefits
- Preparation of durable powers of attorney and health care directives
- Supervision of the probate and tax administration of Connecticut domiciliary and ancillary decedents’ estates
- Incorporation and administration of nonprofit organizations including obtaining tax-exempt determinations from the IRS and advising on regulatory and tax issues
- Representation of individual and institutional fiduciaries before the Connecticut probate courts
- Merger and reorganization of nonprofit organizations
